When people used to ask me what I did, I would tell them I was a tool engineer. I would say I designed the tooling that builds the world of things we need to live today. I have since modified my description. Now I tell them that people tell me what they want to happen and I make it happen.
I have worked in so many fields for the past thirty years I can now walk into most any factory and not be too surprised by what I see. What people want to happen could be as diverse as simple detailing to heavy engineering calculations and I can handle it. So what ever job you may need help with I am sure I have the skill set to deal with it.
I have been told I should call myself a systems engineer rather than a tool designer these days. I really do not care what people call me so long as they call me with their interesting projects.
